Annual: Operational Grant
Eligible Applicants
OPERATIONAL GRANTS are available to any BCTRA Level A Member who has been in good standing as of December 31st of the previous year and is in good standing at time of application. (must be a member in good standing for a minimum of 12months).
Eligible Activities
Support for program and facility support, expansion, location development, equipment. Utilize funds to build capacity or to cover increased expenses to provide inclusive, safe participant experiences, such as but not limited to:
- Facility/Equipment upgrades (including facility compliance for accreditation)
- Organization development, including fundraising/revenue generation strategies and operational/office efficiencies.
Operational Grants do not cover wages, herd care (bills for: vet, hay, chiro/massage etc) or horse purchases. Operational Grants are NOT meant to cover fundamental business costs (such as insurance/utility bills/ internet connection / taxes / memberships etc).
Grant Amounts
Where possible grant amounts will be awarded based on the number of applicants per year and representation across the province.
Application Process
An external, stand-alone Granting Committee will review applications and award funds. Successful applicants will be notified by March. Only one OPERATIONAL GRANTS application per member is permitted per year.
Reporting
Members who have received a OPERATIONAL GRANTS will be required to report on the progress of their application, including a financial report, and a program/event summary within one year of application approval.
Recognition
All marketing and promotion of your activity must indicate sponsorship from BCTRA in financial forms and in your promotional efforts.
When to Apply
OPERATIONAL GRANT applications will be accepted between November 1 and December 15, 2023.
