The Path to the Games

BCTRA is proud to have helped send para-equestrian riders to the BC Summer Games for the last 10 years. As Participant Members of BCTRA, these riders – aged 13 to 30 – have the opportunity to make the games a part of their training goals and to compete with others across the province.

We work closely with the Horse Council of British Columbia to communicate to our members all the information they require to participate. We offer bursaries to help them develop their skills, provide presentations to answer frequently asked questions, and research resources so they can keep in the game. BC Summer Games Dates and Deadlines

Maple Ridge 2024
July 18-21, 2024

Qualifying Period: January 1, 2023 – May 31, 2024
Declaration Deadline: May 31, 2024
Athlete Registration Deadline: May 31, 2024
Opening Ceremony: Thursday, July 18, 2024
Competitions: Friday, July 19, 2024, until noon Sunday, July 21, 2024
Closing Ceremony: Sunday, July 21, 2024

To help better prepare Equestrian Athletes for competition at the BC Summer Games, Horse Council BC has announced the BC Summer Games “Game Ready “Athlete Development Program! The Game Ready program is available to Equestrian Athletes between the ages of 11 to 17 that are interested in competing in either the upcoming 2024 BC Sumer Games in Maple Ridge or young equestrians who have their sights set on competing at future games.
