Funding Opportunities for Parasport

BCTRA is thrilled to announce the distribution of $17,000 to therapeutic riding centers across the province through a one-time grant opportunity designed to thank members for their long-time commitment to the association.

BCTRA received 17 applications covering a wide-range of activities including program support, rider support, education, community outreach, clinics and special events. The grant funds were split equally between each application with and our board made a decision to present each group with $1,000 for their organizations needs. The successful recipients are:

  • Cowichan Therapeutic Riding Association
  • Creston and District Society for Community Living
  • EQisdom Therapeutic Horsemanship Association
  • Errington Therapeutic Riding Association
  • Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association
  • Little Oasis Equine Matters
  • Manestream Equestrian
  • North Fraser Therapeutic Riding Association
  • North Okanagan Therapeutic Riding Association
  • Northwest Therapeutic Equestrian Association
  • Pacific Riding for Developing Abilities
  • Pony Pals Therapeutic Riding Association
  • Richmond Therapeutic Riding Association
  • Salt Spring Island Therapeutic Riding Association
  • Southlands Therapeutic Riding Society
  • Victoria Therapeutic Riding Association

This is the first time BCTRA has been able to offer funding to our members and this inaugural application process has provided us with valuable information to more effectively plan future funding options through the BCTRA Maggie Carpenter Trust fund.
