May 2026 | Message from the Board

Transitioning to a Governance Model and Welcoming our Executive Director

As part of our commitment to modernizing our association and better supporting our industry, the Board of Directors has been actively working to transition from an operational “working board” to a strategic governance structure. To successfully navigate this next chapter, we recognize the need for dedicated leadership focused on day-to-day operations and strategic execution. To that end, we are very pleased to announce that we have hired a part-time Executive Director to join our team.

This role will be instrumental in advancing our provincial advocacy and industry stewardship. By establishing this position, the Board can now focus its energy on high-level oversight, long-term sustainability, and robust governance. Together, these structural changes represent a vital step forward in ensuring our association is resilient, professional, and fully equipped to serve our members. Please join us in welcoming our new Executive Director, Sharolyn Wandzura, to the team.

You will likely recognize Sharolyn from her previous role as our Board Chair, as well as from her regular communications in our administration updates. In addition to her deep familiarity with our operations, Sharolyn brings firsthand industry experience as a former service provider and a Career and Leadership Coach with over 20 years of experience in the Equine Assisted Services (EAS) sector.

We are excited to take this next step together.

Sincerely,

The Board of Directors
