Round Table: Info Session & Community Conversation on Upcoming Provincial Funding Changes

Info Session & Community Conversation on Upcoming Provincial Funding Changes
with Nicole Grocock MA Sp. Ed., BCBA, ESDM Therapist

Tuesday, May 26th, 2026
@ 7pm (online)

We are pleased to introduce Nicole Grocock, the Early Learning Programming Director with Social Butterflies Activities and Learning Ltd. With her deep roots in program administration and a finger on the pulse of provincial shifts, Nicole has been closely monitoring the evolving landscape of the Autism Funding Unit (AFU). The road to 2027 brings with it a series of proposed funding changes that will reshape how services are accessed and delivered across our communities.  While the broader sector prepares for these shifts, we recognize that for those in the Therapeutic Riding (TR) and Equine-Assisted Programming space, many questions remain.

This info session is designed to continue the conversation between current uncertainty and future readiness. We invite member centers currently using AFU Funding to join the call to share how this affects their therapeutic riding program. How are you navigating the specific challenges and opportunities these changes present?

Nicole will share a summary of the communications to date helping to provide a clearer picture of:

  • The Proposed Framework: A high-level overview of the 2027 funding model.
  • Community Impact: How these changes may manifest for families and service providers on the ground.
