Lend Us Your Voice

To deliver the most comprehensive services to our members and keep up to date with the latest in our pillars, we need to know your needs and desires for the future. Committees meet twice a year for brainstorming sessions to help inform our Board of Directors on the strategic direction for BCTRA. Our current committees are:

  • Educational (RoundTable) Committee
  • Therapeutic Riding Committee
  • Para-Equestrian Committee
  • Equine Assisted Learning & Therapies Committee
  • Membership Engagement Committee

We would love to hear from you if you want to share your perspectives and help shape the future of therapeutic riding, para-equestrian development, and equine-assisted services in BC.

Compete with Your Horse.

Based on your feedback and the popularity of our annual video competition, we have made it easier than ever to participate this year. The 4th Annual Para-Equestrian Video Competition will launch in February, and rather than conclude in June, we have extended the submission deadline.

This competition allows riders and participants from all three pillars (therapeutic riding, para-equestrian, and equine-assisted) to compete with their horses in a stress-free environment from their home turf. There are no classification restrictions, and classes can accommodate mounted or unmounted activities, leaders, sidewalks, and independent riders.

Last year, there were seven classes: Pole bending, Barrel Racing, Obstacle Course, Para-Jumping, Equitation/Horsemanship, Para-Reining and Para-Driving and new classes will be added for 2024.

If you haven’t already, sign up for our newsletter to receive announcements about our Para-Equestrian Committee and our upcoming video competition Round Table.
